.RU Requirements Change -UPDATE- ALL Domains Affected

As of 1 October 2009, the Russian registry required that all new Registrants provided documentation in order to be verified for domain registration.

The Registry has now made it a requirement that all existing .RU domains (prior to 1 October 2009), with registrant handles (NIC-D handles) must adhere to this policy as well.

Therefore, in order to comply with this mandate, Ascio Partners must submit a copy of the Business Registration Certificate when the registrant is an organisation or a copy of the Registrant’s passport when the registrant is an individual.

The deadline for submitting correct documentation is Monday March 1st 2010. If documentation is not received by the deadline or does not meet the requirements, the associated domains will be lost.
