Important announcement on Argentinian domains
Ascio
25.02.2010
The Argentinian registry (NIC.AR) have recently issued an important notice on their website. They are warning registrants that they must ensure their contact and other data* associated with their domain names are accurate and up to date, or risk losing those domains. It is particularly important for the registrant email address to be valid and working.
*For Argentinian business entities it is important that the C.U.I.T. (Código único de identificación tributaria); issued by AFIP is registered. For Argentinian individuals, an Argentinian DNI (Documento Nacional De Identidad) and/or C.U.I.T and/or C.U.I.L (Código Único de Identificación Laboral); issued by AFIP must also be registered.
NIC.AR are stating that discovery of incorrect registrant data (name, address, telephone no. ), use of false names, corporate names missing, etc., could result in the deletion of the registrant, which would automatically delete ALL domains for that registrant. It is therefore vital to ensure that all domains you or your clients have, are duly updated with correct and verifiable information. This must be done by the 31 March 2010. You can check the contact information by performing a Whois search at
http://www.nic.ar/
Domains where you are using Ascio's Local Presence should be fine as our agent has ensured that the data listed for them is correct and verifiable.
