.PT (Portugal) becomes more restrictive as of 1 July 2010

The entity that regulates the registration of .pt domain names (FCCN) has announced that from 1 July 2010 the rules for registering .pt domains will become more limited. This amendment states that when registering a .pt domain based on a trademark, that only word marks (text) will be accepted. Mixed brands (text + image / logo) will no longer be accepted as a basis for registration.

Furthermore, the trademark must be fully registered and active. Domains based on trademarks that are still in the application phase will from no longer be accepted.
